East Fork Carson River (Half Day Trip)
Cascading through a canyon of surprising beauty the Wolf Creek half day on the East Fork of the Carson River begins just south of the historic town of Markleeville, CA. Beginning the trip at Cave Rock the river meanders quickly downstream characterized by spirited rapids, steep gradient, and narrow rock studded passages. Continuous rapids fill the day with excitement and adventure around each bend. At 6,000’ elevation, this run begins in the awe-inspiring beauty of Alpine County. The area once home to booming silver mines is filled with history. Little development has occurred since, leaving behind a moment in time of wild west wonder. A trip down our Wolf Creek run is rare as the Carson River is only 1 of 3 naturally flowing rivers in the Eastern Sierras. This run is only available during spring runoffs so come join us for a unique trip down a river not seen by many!
