A mix between high desert biome and luscious towering cottonwood groves the Verdi-Mayberry section on the Truckee River has a unique mix of ecosystems that entice all who float through. Coupled with exciting class II- III whitewater, this run is great for first timers to get a feel for rafting. The trip begins in Verdi Nevada home to the first recorded train robbery in the wild west (The Great Train Robbery of 1870). Here the river flows east down class II rapids towards the biggest feature on the river “Gorilla Falls”, A 15’ tall diversion dam that will be sure to get your adrenaline flowing. The run comes to a finish outside Reno Nevada at Mayberry Park. This tour is available during the spring and on high water years so plan ahead to be able to catch this one. It’s well worth it!
